GOOD FRIDAY 2015

Local Council has approved plans by Saint Anargyre Church in Highgate to have the Good Friday procession 2015 in the neighboring streets.  The Good Friday procession which is one of the most significant religious events for the Orthodox Christian Church involves carrying the Cross, the Epitaph, while singing the Lamentations.

 

John Kaponi, the secretary of our Committee, said:

"It is with pride we will be having our Good Friday procession in our local community here in Highgate.  We have all worked very hard to organize something special for our parish and neighbors here and wish everyone receives the meaning of Easter via our efforts".

Saints Anargyre Greek Orthodox Church in Highgate on Friday 11 April 2015 held its Good Friday procession in the local area of Highgate under permission from the London Borough of Camden and the Metropolitan Police.  The procession was held in a peaceful and respectful manner in line with the mood of mourning for the crucifixion of Christ our Lord.  Below are images of the procession.
